You’re probably confused by the title of this blog. Most of my blog titles are fairly self-explanatory, but this one is a bit different. I’m going to speak about the process you should be going through on your social media profiles. Understand your audience, create great content, engage with your audience and analyse the impact. Hopefully some of the information will be useful to you!
Understand
I can’t stress enough how important it is to constantly ensure that you are targeting the right people and understand your audience before releasing any content. You need to understand your social media audience (and target market in general) extensively, because, obviously, they are the people that are going to be seeing your content, and if it doesn’t appeal to them, they will go elsewhere! Having a good understanding of your social audience could potentially give you a competitive edge over your competitors, who may not fully understand their audience.
Create
Creativity is key on social media. Getting creative on a social media page can help set you apart from a competitor. Also, people like eye-catching content. It’s important to get a lot of images onto a page as they are what capture people’s attention. Getting creative on a social media platform is vitally important to ensure that your social media audience don’t get bored of your content! Creativity will capture people’s attention and get them talking! Does your post include something that your audience are there for? Obviously, members of your social audience have followed you on Twitter, or liked your Facebook page, because they are interested in your business, and what you do. So, you need to make it your duty to produce content that they will love!
Engage
Numerous businesses on social platforms don’t really appreciate their audience. This makes me extremely frustrated. Your Facebook audience and Twitter followers, or any other social media audience for that matter, form the basis of your social media page, and they’re a main contributor to the success of your social media campaign, as well as having a massive impact of the reputation of your business online. After all, they’re the people talking about your businesses’ products or services! Engaging with your audience on a regular basis (replying to comments on Facebook, replying to mentions on Twitter) will keep your page growing and your audience happy. You’ve got to ensure that you’re interacting with them properly and make them feel as though they make a difference to your business, which they do!
Analyse
It’s important to constantly monitor and analyse your social media profiles and have an insight into the impact of the content you are sharing with your audience. Facebook Insights, for example, gives you a great, well, insight, into your social audience and the demographics of your page’s fans and followers, which is a vitally important aspect to have an understanding of! For Twitter, SocialBro is the one to use to gain an insight into your followers. I use it on a regular basis to analyse followers and to see what is and isn’t working. Essentially, you need to ensure that you know as much as possible about your audience, and how they interact with your content. Having this kind of insight and analysis at your disposal will put you in the best possible stead to succeed on your social media platforms, and help move your business forward in general!
